AbraCadaver Cabaret: Urban Legends
October 13 @ 8:00 pm - 11:30 pm$18 - $25
Ghosts in mirrors, alligators in the toilets and killers in the backseat…
The Abracadaver Cabaret returns to the Wise Hall with its newest installment, ‘Urban Legends,’ on Oct.13th
As our society advances, creating locked doors, bright lights and smartphones, there are so many ways to keep yourself safe from danger. But can we ever escape from ritual, superstition, and the creeping evil that lurks beneath the surface of our world? Check under the bed, check the candy for razors, and yes, the call is coming from inside the house!
The Abracadaver Cabaret presents a series of horror inspired vignettes that bring together the awe and wonder of magic, the lust and spectacle of burlesque striptease, and the thrill and terror of storytelling.
The Abracadaver Cabaret is a collaboration of dancers, actors, magicians, visual artists, and poets who have come together because of their passion for horror. This show has been a sanctuary of shadowy showmanship, each year with a new theme, a new world of haunts to unveil to a thrill seeking audience. Concocted nine years ago by the delightfully deranged minds of Emma Eldritch, Melody Mangler and Gidget Gravedigger, this annual show has become a place for a diverse group of performers to explore the macabre side of their craft. Melody, an internationally renowned performer and Burlesque Hall of Fame award winner, holds this show very close to her heart
“This year we delve into the world of urban legends, teenage tales and campfire stories. We will be bringing passed-down terrors to life for the pleasure of our audience!”
The ninth annual Abracadaver Cabaret takes place October 13th at the Wise Hall, which is rumoured to be haunted. The show is hosted by Bunny and Gia Sangria, and features burlesque performers Emma Eldritch, Melody Mangler and Gidget Gravedigger; stilt walker Ariel Amara, actress Lauren Donnelly, chorus dancers from Screaming Chicken Theatrical Society, magicians Travis Bernhardt and Aleister Crane; and photographer Danielle Anathema. Guaranteed to fill you with morbid delight, this show is not recommended for the faint of heart.
