Very special Monday Live in the Lounge show featuring Dylan Perkons on tour in support of his upcoming release, The Healing Day with Vancouver artists Kuri and Adam Mah.
Though he may be a singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, Kuri chiefly describes himself as “an observer.” His keen insight and sonic curiosity thread together an intriguing framework of carefully constructed and composed alternative on 2019’s debut album No Village [Nevado Music]. The foundation remains rooted in organic performances, classically infused orchestration, jazzy freeform spirit, cinematic ambition, and ultimately inspired observation.
Victoria-based artist Dylan Perkons upcoming debut, The Healing Day is a collection of richly orchestral songs that reveal an experienced songwriter finally stepping out to record under his own name. Perkons has spent his career to date working under various aliases and projects honing his craft, so while The Healing Day is his first solo outing, it represents a much longer journey. Produced by Evening Hymns’ Jonas Bonnetta at the secluded Port William Sound, The Healing Day is slated for digital release October 18th.
Before pursuing his solo project, Vancouver Indie Pop artist Adam Mah was a founding member of Derrival (The Peak Performance Project 2014, JUNO Master Class 2016). Working alongside of longtime collaborator Shane Stephenson (Nice., Listening Party), Adam’s meticulous lyric writing and distinctive sound has evolved into dark, synth heavy, driving pop music.
Inspired by the graphite sketch hanging high in his father’s home, Adam’s logo represents the Chinese character for his last name, “Mah”. Using the symbol of his last name encompasses his newfound independence.
The first single and visuals of Adam’s solo EP will be released early 2019.
