A celebration of East Van culture, with 14 great bands, live comedy, flea market and all sorts of fun stuff to fill a hot summer night. Doors at 5:45, show starts promptly at 6 PM. $15 at the door. Apologies to our younger friends, but due to bar service in effect, this event is restricted to 19+.
Musical performances by:
The Great Speckled Fritillary
Psychedelic freakbeat prog pop
Classic Vancouver punk 2 piece that inspired the Riot Grrl movement. Politically savvy lyrics combined with incendiary guitar pyrotechnics, these mainstays of the early Vancouver punk scene have been pushing buttons for over thirty years and are still making vital, militant music on the regular.
Lo-Fi bedroom pop from Vancouver’s favorite music fan
Noisy queercore project from Megamall guitarist Dan On
Tim the Mute
Quirky sadboy pop from the man behind Kingfisher Bluez
Victoria-based pop punk for fans of The Barenaked Ladies
Like if Emerson, Lake and Palmer weren’t total nerds.
Intellectually stimulating progressive Drum & Bass
Not the first King of controversy, but definitely the worst thing since Elvis Presley
Post-punk with gorgeous vocal harmonies and calisthenic grooves
Rambone and the Wet Reality
Dirty garage rock from the theater of the absurd
Sensual chillwave from the songwriter behind Laser Cake
Scrappy power pop trio with hooks to spare
The Psychic Alliance
Catchy psychedelic glam-punk by way of Sun Ra
Plus standup comedy performances by Amber Harper-Young and Elizabeth Ettles!
